New year's resolution: Watch the road !

Second class of the semester today. After class I'm walking down st Catherine my thoughts divided between the book I'm reading (Kathy Reich-Death du jour) and the chocolate fudge cake in my fridge, when I bumped into a pole. By bumped I mean I literally crashed into that pole and I nearly fell..
Just imagine the picture in your mind, the surroundings, the people laughing, some wondering if I was OK, others just totally "bouche-bée"...
My first reaction was shock and shortly (very very shortly) after than pain in my forehead, but as I was standing ,my hand on my head and realizing what just happened I started to laugh (LOL , a very big LOL), My head was hurting a bit but I was still laughing as I picked up my book and walked toward home

Maybe a different day or time this situation could have been highly embarrassing but it somehow made me laugh( maybe head trauma ?) as I saw things in perspective, theses are incidents that would make me laugh in movies or even witnessed in real life, and it happened to me today...

Anyway from now on, I'll try to keep books away when I walk,
when they talk about drunk driving or watching both ways before crossing the road, they should also mention to watch the road in front of you...
