My addiction to the movie theater

Like music or eating, Movies have always been an important part of my life. My movie theater attendances is increasing dangerously over the last months and, as my mom so nicely pointed out in our last phone conversation, my finances could take a substancial hit. But to prevent that, I've taken some mesures to limit the expenses concerning my frequent trips to the theater:

. I've got many reduction cards and frequent movie goers subscriptions: Even if it's not advertised by most cinemas, everyone of them would gladly make you a special offer when you get to the point where you know all the staff by name, lol..

. I'm a student, and in general, students get reductions and sometimes tickets are half the price on some days...

I usually go to the movies twice a week and usually late sunday nights ,on mondays or tuesdays. The reason why?
I love to go to the movies by myself (weird eh ?), and on days of very few attendance. I love the feeling you get when you walk into the empty theater, no lines whatsoever to buy the tickets, you can take as long as you want to pick a popcorn combo (even if I usually end up with more than I asked for)...

The last movie I've seen is "27 Dresses". Chick flick you say ? yes it is, but you have to understand I've already seen most of the blockbusters and some foreign films (way underrated as some are truly wonderful) and the movie was quite good, I like Katherine heigl and Krysten Ritter is hilarious as always. It was sunday night and I was alone in the room...yep it happens sometimes and when it does it's fabolous !
you can sit wherever you want, and laugh as loud as you can, even have phone conversations (well not in my case but its an example lol), there's no one around to tell you otherwise...
I've also seen Juno a couple of times and persepolis (those 2 are really great piece of art, the movie adaptation of the book was better than I expected..)

but my movie addiction doesn't stop at going to the cinema, I also buy some DVD's I like from time to time and I download a lot from the internet ( torrent, p2p, even re-rippin' dvd's), illegal I know, but what's the point to have all this computer knowledge if not to use it for my entertainement and to exercise my right to free information . Furthermore, as a personal disclamer to the RIAA and the MPAA, I only acquire these data for my personal use, and I don't think my downloading is that endangering to the music and movie industries as I am one of their most influencial source of income (see my cinema attendances and my neverending CD collection)...

Finally, I recommend to everybody, this website: http://www.metacritic.com/film/
It's a huge database of critics and reviews ( movies, music, books) from journals, professional critics and also consumers like you and me....
