Online Procrastination- Part 1

Here goes my non-exhaustive list of websites, in some of them time is well wasted, as far as I'm concerned, for the others I apologize for the inconvenience.

Mancrush.com

The summum of bromance on the net. It's basically a list of famous men (fictional, dead or alive...) and their ranking based on how much they are loved by other men.
Right now, Jesus is at the first place, closely followed by Elvis Presley, and hum, G.I Joe is ranked at no 58.

FreeRice.com

It's a charity website related to the UN World Food Program. This website is the easiest way to help end hunger in third world countries via a vocabulary game. For each right answer on the quiz, 10 grains of rice are added to the "food bank". The game is for everyone as the difficulty varies from one question to another. Not only it improves your english but it also feeds less fortunate people, there's no better way to procrastinate (well maybe there is, but it's the kindest, and most helpful "time waster"). Yesterday my total was 940 grains of rice.

CollegeHumor.com

They now have a show on MTV, the website is full of funny articles and webseries with many many guest stars.

Facebook

Nowadays, even the pope might have a Facebook profile. Some are complaining about the loose privacy features, others are enjoying the numerous applications and the stalking situation. Needless to say, this social drug is giving new meaning to words like friendship and will cause the end of the post-it note.

My 2 cents on the facebook privacy: in "Web 2.0" or the new age internet, you don't really need facebook to dig info on people, just basic google tools skills and/or little guidance on html and c+. Also, nobody is forcing "Facebook" users to put their phone number, or to post their whole lives down to the blood type and the adress of their grandmother on the profile. While the site might have some "intentional" security glitches, the users are in total control of the content of their profile; except hum, when you wake up and find that you've been tagged on photos of last night drinkfest or that your ex-girlfriend is unveiling her recent admiration for Shakespeare on your wall.

Youtube

There isn't much I can say about Youtube that hasn't been said about the internet and free booze.

i agree 100% that facebook and youtube is an excellent way to procrastinate. i for one use facebook way too much. But i certainly disagree when people whine about not being able to do things, they would probably get the work done if they simply stopped facebooking. and you are right, noone forced them to put their personal details, phone number etc on facebook it's their own personal choice. and i love your use of google =]
